On June 4th, Figueroa Street Elementary School celebrated their 100th Birthday.

What an amazing celebration! Thank you Principal Peyatt for inspiring the children in our community to attend school. Figueroa Street Elementary has the lowest absentee rate in the state and her students are scoring higher in testing. Way To Go!!!

Thank you Senior Lead Officer Gutierrez for coming out and supporting your school. It was fun to watch the kids ask you so many questions about becoming an officer. And a special Shout Out to our friends at NovaStorage located at 13129 S Figueroa St in Harbor Gateway. Thank you for donating the birthday cakes to the school. We are excited to include you in our community activities.

June 11th, I attended LAPD Southeast Clergy Council Community Meeting. We were introduced to the new Patrol Captain Perry Griffith(left), Bernita R. Walker(middle) Project:Peacemakers, Inc., Shannon Reuven, Teen Challenge of Southern California. These meetings bring additional resources and/or service options for our neighborhoods.

Early in the morning on June 11th, every other Tuesday there is a FREE Produce Market Giveway at the Venice Family Clinic located at 740 W Gardena Blvd in Harbor Gateway/Gardena. Every giveaway, we drive produce to various locations throughout the South Bay. The next giveaway is Tuesday, June 25th at 9:30am. Please share this information with your employees or anyone that is needing fresh fruits & vegetables.
