Introducting the Longwood Association, a community located in Long Beach along Susanna Road. They reached out to me asking to do a community clean up in their area and along the business corridor in Rancho Dominguez. This is one more group that is willing to take the time to clean up and address the issues impacting the quality of life in the area.
With the help of United Waste Services, we have the ability to get dumpsters to assist us with picking up the trash and transforming some of the hardest hit neighborhoods. These clean ups have resulted in over 1,000,000 pounds of trash removed from county & city streets in a year. Businesses donating large heavy duty equipment and personnel have made it possible to address the ongoing issues quickly.
More planned clean ups are in the planning stages. I see the piles. I report the piles. I leave messages with Supervisor Mitchell's office asking for updates. I am in contact with Public Works daily. If they cannot do it, we can. However, businesses I need your financial support or assistance with heavy equipment to remove the vast amount of waste piling up.
Will you purchase plastic K-Rails (aka traffic barriers) so we can prevent further trash from being dumped on our streets?
Will you invest in cameras to help us identify the illegal dumpers?
Businesses can request additional street lighting to help with the dark spots. There are options to help prevent the illegal dumping.
Do We Really Want to Wait Until the End of September For This To Be Addressed?
Next Community Clean Up is scheduled for Redondo Beach Blvd between San Pedro & Main Street.
The date is Saturday, August 10th from 7am until 930am.
We need funds to rent the heavy duty equipment such as bulldozers or skip loaders. Unless someone would like to donate them.
Friday, August 9th and Saturday, August 10th with the help of a local logistics company, we will tackle this location on 130th & Athens Way. This is the epicenter for the majority of crime impacting Harbor Gateway & the Unincorporated areas of Rosewood, West Rancho Dominguez and East Gardena.
Compton Blvd between San Pedro & Main Street in East Gardena/West Rancho.
Community Clean Up is scheduled for
Saturday, August 17th.
Fun starts at 7am until 930am.
Businesses we need heavy duty equipment, will you donate or provide it for the betterment of your area?
Rancho Dominguez, you are not forgotten. Your reporting has helped with getting resources to tackle the dumping. With the help of the Longwood Association and some of the local businesses, your voices are being heard.
THANK YOU for reporting the issues and sharing the information within the community.
