Our complicated jurisdictions continue to hinder accurate reporting simply by an address. The recent copper thefts occurred in the community of Harbor Gateway belonging to the City of Los Angeles. However, these areas utilize two very different zip codes both with different city identities. It is nuts.
I am using every tool in my toolbox to get resources and help to our communities.
With the help of FOXLA, we are getting the coverage needed to share the criminal activity occuring in our community impacting businesses and causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses. This is the second segment regarding the copper theft. LAPD Southeast is actively working on this situation. I have shared all the details of this incident with Century Sheriff, Compton Sheriff, CHP, Union Pacific Railroad Police and LADWP Security.
If the incidents are not reported, they do not exist.
I am asking ALL business owners and/or building owners to report all incidents with law enforcement.
If the incidents are not reported, they do not exist.
As a guideline, if you feel your life or your employees life is at risk, CALL or TEXT 911.
If you or your staff are in imminent danger, CALL or TEXT 911.
If your building has been compromised, burglarized, and/or vandalized CALL or TEXT 911.
This group of thieves are not going to leave the area unless we work to get them out.
